The Parker company was acquired by the U.S. Music Corporation in 2003, which was itself sold to Jam Industries in August 2009. As of November 2016, the brand was inactive after the factory in Illinois was closed….Parker Guitars.

I believe ken Parker said of the fly: it was a $10K guitar that they had to sell for $2K. The other thing is Ken was trying to fix inherent problems in the electric guitar, but most guitarists are pretty conservative, and that’s what they were fighting against. A friend of mine had a fly back in the 90s, and I got to play it, it was a great guitar.

Oh yeah, strung with 10-46 strings and the truss rod nut as tight as it would go, it still had too much relief. Apparently mine had one of the basswood necks, which were flimsy. the coolest thing ever, and the frets are awesome. They are far from perfect, though, in my experience.
