Overview:

1. Check-in for your flight.
2. Hand over any luggage that would need to go into the aircraft hold, if you are travelling with luggage.
3. Pass through the airport security gates to the departures hall.
4. Find your boarding gate.
5. Board the plane and fly to your destination.

What do I need to bring to the airport?

At Security

1. Have your ID and boarding pass out and ready for the TSA official.
2. Take off your shoes, belt, and any jewelry that may set off the metal detector.
3. If you have a clear plastic bag of liquids or gels in your carry-on bag, take it out and place it in a bin next to your shoes, belt, etc.

What do you do when you first get to the airport?

With time to spare, grab something to eat and drink but remember:

1. Always find your gate first – the airport may be bigger than expected!
2. Check flight monitors regularly.
3. Update your clock to the local time zone.
4. Be at your gate for boarding time, NOT departure time!
5. Ask airport staff for directions if needed.
