Focus is a better movie than I anticipated, actually that’s a lie. Despite the cast my expectations were low, so I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t much of a stinker. The movie is entertaining, the story is somewhat interesting, but – of course there is a but – it could have been much better.
What is the film Focus about?
Nicky (Will Smith), a veteran con artist, takes a novice named Jess (Margot Robbie) under his wing. While Nicky teaches Jess the tricks of the trade, the pair become romantically involved; but, when Jess gets uncomfortably close, Nicky ends their relationship. Three years later, Nicky is in Buenos Aires working a very dangerous scheme when Jess — now an accomplished femme fatale — unexpectedly shows up. Her appearance throws Nicky for a loop at a time when he cannot afford to be off his game.

Nicky appears to bleed out as Jess cries and tells him she loves him. It looks like Nicky dies until Owens says he shot Nicky in the right spot to avoid any major arteries, although he did puncture his lung. Owens gets the blood out of Nicky’s lung, reviving him.
