Is SFU online in spring 2021?
For the Spring term, most courses will be delivered remotely, with increased in-person courses in program areas that require research and experiential learning. We are also able to accommodate more graduate-level courses for in-person learning at this stage as those courses tend to be smaller in size.
Can I visit SFU?
Absolutely. SFU Residence has remained open during COVID-19 and will continue to remain open. We have taken every necessary measure to ensure that residences remain a safe and friendly community for all of our student residents from both SFU and FIC.
Can I add a class after the deadline?
Adding a class after the drop/add deadline is considered a Late Add and requires instructor, department, and college approval.
Are SFU classes in-person?
Most classes will be in-person, and the goSFU, mySchedule, or Calendar entry will indicate a building code and room number. Alternatively, some classes will be remote.
How do I drop a class SFU?
To drop classes:
- Drill down on any section of a class in either List or Calendar view.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Select Drop Class, and then an additional prompt confirmation page is displayed.
- Select the Drop option to confirm drop.

How long does it take to get accepted to SFU?
Offer Acceptance Deadline Most programs require a response within 21 days. Your letter will include the number of days you have to respond to your offer. If you do not respond within the time the offer may lapse and the program reserves the right to reconsider your offer.
What if I drop a class after the deadline?
Dropping a class after the drop/add period has ended is considered a Withdrawal. You will receive a “W” grade for the course when you withdraw. If you wish to withdraw from a course, you must do so by the withdraw deadline that is published in the college Academic Calendar for that semester.
