How does Sylvan Library work?
When Sylvan Library’s trigger resolves, you can choose to draw two cards. Two cards drawn: If you dredged once, then for each of the two cards you drew, you have to put that card back or pay 4 life to keep it. Three cards: If you didn’t dredge at all, then Sylvan Library works as normal.
Can I respond to Sylvan Library?
Yes: you draw your one card for the turn normally, then Sylvan Library’s ability goes on the stack, and you respond twice by activating Words of War’s ability.
Is Sylvan Library a trigger?
Sylvan Library has a triggered ability (starts with “when/whenever/at”), and each one triggers separately from the other. You’ll resolve one of them – draw 2, make decisions – then when you’re done with that you’ll process the other one – draw 2, make decisions. I’m Mike, from The Mana Pool.

The Library has a triggered ability that triggers at the beginning of your draw step. This trigger will go on the stack after you’ve drawn for the turn. When the trigger resolves, you can draw an additional two cards. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to (the ability is optional).
Why is Sylvan primordial banned?
Because it’s incredibly warping. You get insane value out it, and if you’re green there’s no way you’re going to play without it. It is also decent ramp stapled onto something that can hose all your opponents in one shot.
Why is braids banned?
Braids is a stax piece that can stop some players from taking any meaningful game actions. Iona is banned because she can lock a mono-colored player out of the game all by herself. Though she’s expensive to cast, she’s also really easy to cheat into play.
Does Yasharn stop Sylvan Library?
MTG Salvation Yasharn only disallows you from paying life in order to activate an ability. Sylvan Library is a triggered ability, so by the time you are asked to pay life, the whole ability is already resolving. So Yasharn does not interact with Sylvan Library.
