How do I set the timer on my IWS?
How do I set the timer on my IWS?
Set your timer If using clay pebbles, add 1-2 minutes to the time recorded. If using a coco mix, the time recorded is your actual flood time. You don’t need to add extra time as it holds more water than pebbles. You can see it took us just under 7 minutes to flood, so we set our flood time to 8 minutes.
How does IWS system work?
The IWS Flood & Drain System is a highly developed hybrid ebb and flow system which works by flooding from the bottom of each individual pot. The system uses gravity to send water to the pots and only uses pumps to fill and drain the main 25 litre control bucket.

For instance, if you are growing large plants in clay pebbles in a hot, dry, atmosphere with powerful lighting and longer day time, you may need to flood and drain 9, 10 or even 15 times a day. You may need 1-2 flooding in the night if you have a longer dark period and in summers.

How do you clean the IWS system?
We recommend Hydrogen Peroxide to clean your system, because of its effectiveness and not needing to rinse as many times. For smaller components, you can make a bleach bath. This will be a 1:1 mixture of unscented bleach and water. Once you have this, you can soak your pumps, Hydroton pebbles and net pots.
