What is NuSieve GTG agarose?

What is NuSieve GTG agarose?

NuSieve® GTG® Agarose is a low melting temperature (65º C) agarose that finely resolves DNA fragments, PCR and RT-PCR products ranging from 10 to 1,000 bp. NuSieve® GTG® Agarose is tested and certified for reliable ligation and transformation of DNA directly in a remelted agarose gel.

What is GTG agarose?

SeaKem® GTGTM Agarose is a standard gelling temperature, high gel strength agarose that resolves DNA fragments greater than 1,000 bp. This Genetic Technology GradeTM (GTGTM) agarose is specifically designed for preparative DNA electrophoresis and is tested for the presence of proteases, ligases and nucleases.

Does agarose produce Electroendosmosis?

The agarose polymer contains charged groups, in particular pyruvate and sulfate. These negatively charged groups can slow down the movement of DNA molecules in a process called electroendosmosis (EEO), and low EEO agarose is therefore generally preferred for use in agarose gel electrophoresis of nucleic acids.

What is in agarose?

Agarose is a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide extracted from the cell walls of certain marine red algae. Chemically, it is a copolymer of 1,3-linked β-d-galactose and 1,4-linked 3,6-anhydro-α-l-galactose.

What is NuSieve?

NuSieve® GTG® Agarose is a unique low melting temperature agarose for resolving DNA fragments from 10 bp to 1,000 bp. Cloning procedures can be performed directly in remelted agarose, eliminating costly and time- consuming DNA extraction steps.

What is elution of DNA?

DNA elution is the process of extracting DNA from homogenized plant or animal tissue samples by washing with a solvent, usually a DNA elution buffer.

Why do we use 1 agarose gel?

The concentration of gel affects the resolution of DNA separation. For a standard agarose gel electrophoresis, a 0.8% gel gives good separation or resolution of large 5–10kb DNA fragments, while 2% gel gives good resolution for small 0.2–1kb fragments. 1% gels is often used for a standard electrophoresis.

What is the performance of nusieve TM 3 : 1 agarose?

These easy-to-handle gels enhance the speed of gel processing and blotting. Performance testing of NuSieve TM 3:1 Agarose ensures fine resolution of DNA fragments up to 1,000 bp, though this agarose is capable of finely resolving DNA fragments ranging from 10 bp up to 1500 bp.

How big is a 500 g nusieve agarose gel?

NuSieve TM 3:1 Agarose, 500 g, standard melting temperature agarose that yields strong gels for fine resolution of small DNA, RNA, and PCR products ≤ 1 kb. NuSieve TM 3:1 Agarose is a molecular biology grade, standard melting temperature agarose that yields strong gels for fine resolution of small DNA, RNA, and PCR products ≤ 1 kb.

Can a cloning procedure be performed in nusieve TM GTG TM agarose?

Cloning procedures can be performed directly in remelted NuSieve TM GTG TM Agarose, eliminating costly and time-consuming DNA extraction steps. This agarose is also compatible with reactions carried out in the presence of the remelted agarose gel.

How are PCR products amplified on a nusievetm 3 agarose gel?

PCR Products on a NuSieveTM 3:1 Agarose Gel – A 550 bp sequence from lambda DNA was amplified (25 cycles) using primers and Taq DNA polymerase supplied in the GeneAmp® kit (Roche Molecular Systems). PCR products and controls were electro phoresed on a 4% NuSieveTM 3:1 agarose gel in TAE buffer at 5 V/cm for 3 hours.
