A city is captured when an enemy army attacks a city that defeats all its defending units in battle, or if they attack a city that has no units in it, regardless of how much Fortification the city has.

Units inflict damage on their selected target, and may suffer a counter-attack. Units can also trigger special abilities which give them an advantage. For example, the Wild Walkers archers slow down their enemies, and the Broken Lord Infantry recovers health when they destroy their target.
