What is shared branching?
Shared Branching is a national network of credit unions from all over the country that share facilities to give members thousands of convenient locations to perform transactions just as if they were at their home credit union.

Can I withdraw money from a shared branch?
What can members do at a shared branch? You’ll be able to make deposits, withdrawals and transfers between accounts. You can also make loan payments and purchase money orders and traveler’s checks.
How much can I withdraw from a shared branch?
$500 per day
CO-OP Shared Branch may limit cash withdrawals to $500 per day, regardless of your own credit union’s policy. You may want to call ahead to find out if the branch you plan to go to has a higher cash withdrawal limit. Will my deposited funds be immediately available?
Does Mountain America do shared branching?
Mountain America no longer participates in Shared Branching.
Are all credit unions linked together?
Most deposits are insured through the NCUA. You have to be eligible to join a credit union. Once a member, always a member. Not all credit unions offer the same features.
Can I make a deposit at 7 Eleven ATM?
Many of the deposit-taking CO-OP network ATMs are Vcom units in 7-Elevens. You can see the transactions that can be done in this 7-Eleven Vcom page at CU Service Centers. You don’t have this worry when you make a deposit using a teller at your local branch.
Can you deposit money from one credit union to another?
If your credit union is part of the shared branching network (formerly known as CU Service Centers), you can complete most routine transactions from anywhere, including: Make deposits at any credit union that’s part of the network. Withdraw cash from a teller or ATM. Make loan payments.
Does Wells Fargo do shared branching?
1 Wells Fargo, which has 6,150 branches. The shared branch network enables members to enter the branch of any participating credit union and conduct their business as if they were in their own home branch.
Can I get a cashier’s check from a shared branch?
Any fees for conducting a shared branching transaction will be assessed by your home credit union. However, a shared branch location may assess fees for services like traveler’s checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, stop payments, and notary service.
Does Navy Federal do shared branching?
Navy Federal doesn’t participate in shared branching at this time. However, we are partnered with several ATM networks to offer fee-free ATM services for our members, including cash deposits!
Why are credit unions bad?
The downsides of credit unions are that your accounts could be cross-collateralized as described above. Also, as a general rule credit unions have fewer branches and ATMs than banks. However, some credit unions have offset this weakness by joining networks of surcharge-free ATMs. Some credit unions are not insured.
