What is a Fixomull dressing?
As your injury or surgery has left an open wound on the skin it has been dressed with a dressing called Fixomull. This dressing is left undisturbed whilst the skin underneath is healing.
What do you use Fixomull for?
It is particularly good for use prior to shoulder strapping and taping for patellofemoral pain (specifi c taping of the knee). Fixomull stretch is ideal for window facing on moist wound dressings to prevent roll up. It can also be used as a dressing for minor burns.
How long do you leave Fixomull on?
Fixomull is a white gauze bandage that should be left on for 7 days. It’s a low maintenance way of healing tattoos that requires little interference. It does a fantastic job of healing solid colour work. It’s usually not necessary for more fineline work, but can be used and left on for about 5-6 days.

Is Fixomull and hypafix the same?
Fixomull Stretch is a wide area adhesive tape, especially suitable for use on frequently mobile and highly contoured parts of the body. Commonly used under rigid strapping tape. This product is the same as Hypafix.
Does Fixomull contain latex?

Can you put hypafix directly on a wound?
Keeping the wounds moist with a smear of petroleum jelly or Betadine ointment and covered with a non-stick dressing/hypafix until completely healed will help keep bugs out of the wound by providing a barrier and also help keep the wound moist to encourage wound healing.
Is Hypafix the same as Fixomull?
Do dry or moist wounds heal faster?
Moist wound healing is the practice of keeping a wound in an optimally moist environment in order to promote faster healing. Research has shown that moist wound healing is three to five times quicker than the healing of wounds that are allowed to dry out.
Is Fixomull breathable?
Fixomull® transparent consists of a thin breathable polyurethane film coated with a skin-friendly adhesive in a special pattern technique. The product protects reliably against water, bacteria and contaminants, yet granting a high MVTR.
