Is Calor Lite still available?

Calor Lite cylinders have been discontinued but a new lightweight cylinder is in development. The company has confirmed current Calor Lite users will be able to exchange their cylinders for new-style ones when they are released.

Are Calor Lite bottles safe?

Any 6kg Calor Lite® cylinder which has already been recalled, tested and confirmed as safe for use will have a small hole (5.5mm diameter) punched into the silver tare disc located on the shroud of the cylinder. These cylinders are safe to use.

Why was Calor Lite discontinued?

Calor has decided to stop producing its 6kg Lite gas bottle, after it failed to prove as durable as traditional bottles. The Lite version was introduced in 2006 specifically for caravanners looking to save weight.

If you would like to return a gas bottle, please call and arrange an appointment with your local Calor Centre to drop off your gas bottle along with your Cylinder Refill Agreement paperwork to receive a 25-70% refund of the original CRA cost.
