Can you fish at Echo Lake NH?
The Lakeside General Store at Echo Lake has all the live bait and fishing poles that you need. Echo Lake is larger than Profile Lake with 38 acres of water, used for boating, fishing and swimming. Echo Lake is also stocked with trout. Both Echo and Profile Lake are accessible to kayaks and small boats.

When Echo Park Lake reopened last summer, the public was treated to a sparkling and cleaned up lake, newly landscaped grounds and a renovated boat house. One thing that remained untouched, however, were the public restrooms, which are housed in two separate buildings on the north and east sides of the park.
Do you need reservations for NH beaches?
NH State Parks is using a reservation system at most day-use locations during the main operating season. We strongly recommend booking your trip in advance as parks can reach capacity in the morning hours, especially on weekends and holidays.
When did Echo Lake become a state park?
In 1943 the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests joined with the state to raise funds to buy Echo Lake, protecting it from commercial development. Today Cathedral Ledge, White Horse Ledge, and Echo Lake are all part of the Echo Lake State Park.

Beautiful Echo Lake, at an elevation of 1,931 feet, offers views of Mt. Lafayette and Cannon Mountain. Visitors can also enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and canoe and paddle boat rentals. Last rental boats go out an hour before closure. The waters of Echo Lake flow westerly toward the Connecticut River.
Can you take a pet to Echo Lake?
Pets are permitted throughout the back trails in the Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge areas only. Pets are not allowed at Echo Lake from May 1 to Oct. 31. See the NH State Parks Pets Policy for more information.
When do boat rentals at Echo Lake close?
The slopes of Cannon Mountain ski area drop right to the edge of the lake, and the view highlights where the Franconia Range and Kinsman Range meet, creating the notch. Beach is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC from 6pm – 9am. Boat Rentals daily 10am – 6pm, Last boat rentals go out at 5pm.
