The 5 gallon compressor is fine for an airbrush and small touch up gun. If you’re going to clear one canopy you should be fine. If you are going to do 2 or more you might have to wait for the compressor to catch up.

You can use most standard sprayers for polyurethane, although many spray polyurethane products do come in an aerosol can. If you use another sprayer, such as an airbrush, you must ensure that you clean it properly in-between uses.

Plan for 2-4 coats. When applying multiple coats (recommended), it’s a good idea to apply the first coat lightly. Doing so helps prevent shrinkage, which causes cracks. Additional coats should be full and wet.
Is Tamiya clear gloss?
This is a Tamiya 23ml X-22 Clear Gloss Acrylic Paint. Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. The paint can be also thinned for airbrushing using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner.

Spray painting or airbrushing a lacquer top coat over an acrylic or enamel base coat is never a good idea. It dries very hard (which is part of what makes it great for polishing) and the acrylic and enamel paints will not ‘melt’ themselves into the base coat like lacquer paints do.
