Are Zeiss Conquest scopes good?
Are Zeiss Conquest scopes good?
The optics on the Zeiss are very good, and easily match those of scopes costing twice as much that I own. The clarity is outstanding, and the light-gathering ability is as good as any 40mm objective scope I’ve used. All in all, I consider this scope to be an excellent performer at its price point.
Are Zeiss scopes better than Leupold?
I have both and prefer the Leupold. The glass may be a bit better in The Zeiss, though some people would argue that. I think the Leupold is a little easier to look through, the Zeiss seems a little harder to get lined up and I think the “eye box” is a little touchier on it. You really can’t go wrong with either one.

What does 3 by 9 by 40 mean on a scope?
In a 3-9×40 scope, the 3 means three power, or 3x. This means that the image you see through the scope appears three times (3x) closer than it does with your naked eye. The 9 means nine power, or nine times (9x) closer than it appears with your naked eye. You would describe this scope as a “three to nine by forty.”

In most cases, a pricier scope is going to have more robust construction and more rigid internals than a scope at a lower cost. Great optical resolution and clear lenses don’t mean a thing if the scope won’t hold its zero or adjust reliably.
