Can I reuse references?

If you are citing them in-text more than once, and you are referring to the same source each time, then you can simply reuse that same in-text reference with a single entry on your references page at the end.

Can you apply to UCAS twice?

Yes. Duplicate applications will be detected and cancelled as part of the initial checking process conducted by UCAS.

How do I change my UCAS application once I sent to references?

This can’t be amended once your application has been sent. If there any changes you want to make, you need to get in touch with your university choices to ask if they’d be willing to accept a new draft sent to them directly.

How do I know when my UCAS reference is done?

Once the reference has been provided we’ll email you to let you know the section is complete. Keep in touch with your referee to make sure the reference is completed in time, and then you’ll be able to pay your application fee and send your application to us.

Can you edit UCAS after paying?

You can change your choices of universities and colleges up to seven days from the date of your welcome letter. After that, it’s not usually possible to change your choices, although exceptions are sometimes made for students with personal problems or changed family circumstances.

Can you apply to uni without a reference?

Don’t want to include a reference? There is actually an option to not include a reference, but only if you contact all your chosen universities and colleges and they agree that you don’t need one. Just confirm this on the reference page of your application.

If possible, they should be someone who knows you academically and can talk about your work ethic, interaction with other students and your suitability for higher education or a future career. In a current or recent school or college, ask your tutor, teacher, principal or head teacher.

Can a referee add my grades to my UCAS application?

If your referee is one of your teachers, they can add your predicted grades for any pending qualifications you’re studying now. With your permission, it could include circumstances that have/could affect your academic work, such as a personal problem, illness or any individual needs you have.
