The trail system stretches from Timberline Lodge above to Trillium Lake below. You can make a large 4-mile loop around the town on both sides of Hwy 26 (cross at the blinking yellow lights with caution!) or ride down to Trillium Lake for a refreshing swim.

It’s a 4.4 mile round trip from Trillium Sno-Park. The trail is popular and is mostly gentle terrain with a picturesque lake, meadow, and a view of Mt. Hood. Roads were clear for us, but they can be icy/snowy and require 4 wheel drive, chains, or both. The Oregon State Parks parking permit does not work here. You have to get a separate Sno-Park Parking Permit in the winter. If you’re hoping to see Mt Hood with the reflection in the lake, you’ll need to go after all the snow has melted.

A State of Oregon Sno-Park permit is required November 1 through April 30 at Trillium Lake. There is no formal trail fee, but a $3.00 donation is recommended. Donations pay for the trail to be groomed. Dogs must be on a leash on the Trillium area ski trails.
