Lack of Marketing and Promotion Wildstar failed to manage both. The game did have a big promotional push just before release and the studio’s clever usage of social media to highlight key aspects of the game was commendable. The Dev Speak videos are still my favorite things to watch, personally.

Why did Wildstar shut down?
The cartoon graphics and horrible gameplay was the main downfall of this game. Thats why LOTRO and DDO were separated from Carbine studios and taken over by Standing stone games. Carbine doesn’t know how to make good fun mmorpg. If you think Wildstar was a good fun game then you have no idea what fun actually means.

WildStar ultimately failed because ontop of all the minor and average game issues it had, it had a problem with a requirement of skilled players. WildStar required a player to be aware, able to play their class, and do well at it to be able to play the basic level of the game.
