Is driving a DofE skill?
For many 17 and 18-year-olds learning to drive is a right of passage, and one that’s not usually associated with extracurricular qualifications such as DofE. However, learning to drive is on DofE’s list of preapproved activities, so you can rest assured that your evidence will be accepted.
Can driving be a skill for Duke of Ed?
Whilst participating in this activity, you break a sweat; therefore this is classed as Physical Recreation activity. Example 2: Learning to drive is classified as a Skill as minimal physical activity is required. Example 3: Participants may opt to do dance for their Physical Recreation section of their Duke of Ed.
Can you do DofE outside of school?
Is there an alternative way to begin a DofE Award outside of school? As an alternative you can do it through The Scouts, The Guides, CCF and most youth organisation nation wide.
What skill should I do for DOFE?
One passive skill is chosen to practice for the duration of the Award level. The chosen skill can be something new or the continued development of a previous skill….Examples and ideas:

What can you do for your DOFE physical?
Physical
- Yoga. Do an online yoga course with Lizzie Ward Yoga, The Kindness Club, Yoga CharmD or The Yoga Gate.
- Online fitness. – Do an hour’s YouTube fitness video each week (you can try boot camps, pilates, dance routines and more)
- Fitness challenge.
- Training.
- Learn a new sport.
- Team sports.
- Wheelchair workouts.
Can you learn a language for DofE?
Additional learning in a language already being studied: la Academia has several students studying a language as part of their DofE. We teach students on a one to one basis, and provide a certificate of study, but the students can also take an external exam in the language if they wish.
Does DofE count as a qualification?
What is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award? Each year the DofE is regularly stated by graduate employers as being a definitive qualification for demonstrating that an individual has the rounded set of skills and the qualities for which they are looking.
Can a DofE leader be an assessor?
All Assessors must be adults and cannot be immediate family members. Award Leaders should only be an Assessor if they are suitably experienced in the activity.
