Is YRT still accepting cash fare? Exact cash fare is accepted and transfers will be issued if requested. However, customers are strongly encouraged to use contactless forms of payment including PRESTO and the YRT Pay app.

Are YRT and Viva tickets the same?
Our fares let you travel on any YRT vehicle in any direction for two hours with just one fare. Fare is valid for two hours from time of issue/validation. There are no fare boxes on Viva so you must purchase tickets and passes, tap your PRESTO card or activate your mobile ticket/pass prior to boarding.
Can I use PRESTO on YRT and TTC?

Q: Do I need to tap off when I exit the subway or a TTC or YRT bus? A: No. However, if you are transferring from the subway to a TTC, YRT or GO bus/train, you will need to tap on when you board the bus or train. You only need to tap off when you are riding a GO train or GO bus as their fares are determined by distance.
What does PS1 mean on Presto?
From what I read on GO, I must get my presto card set to take post secondary student fares (PS1) and get a go approved student ID.
