What does this mean? DO NOT trim/shape your beard prior to the three-week mark. I recommend waiting at least four weeks before shaping. If you trim too soon, your beard could become lopsided.

Beard oil supports growth, but it is not the main cause for growth. It really comes down to genetics. However, with that said, it took my beard 8 months to finally fill in. I had splotchy patches that took many months for them to finally fill in.
