What is the difference between Meaco DD8L and DD8L Junior?

The Meaco Portable Compact DD8L is Meaco’s most popular dehumidifier and comes in two guises, the standard ‘DD8L’ and the ‘DD8L Junior’. The only difference between these two models is that the ‘Junior’ model does not have an ioniser or antibacterial filter and it is therefore a little cheaper.

Are Meaco dehumidifiers desiccant?

The DD8L Junior Desiccant Dehumidifier uses Meaco’s low-energy control logic, which regulates humidity by sampling air periodically – the room is therefore dehumidified only when needed, giving you maximum comfort while helping you save big on energy bills.

Which dehumidifier is cheapest to run?

If you want the cheapest dehumidifier to run for a small house then it is the Meaco 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier and for a medium to large house then it is the Meaco 20L Low Energy Dehumidifier.

Can a dd8l be fixed to a wall?

This configuration ensures both the air vent and the tank can are unobstructed and easily accessible when the DD8L is fixed to a wall. Made for the UK climate and homes the DD8L can extract up to 8 Litres of water from your home every day.

How big is the water tank on the dd8l?

It’s not the most attractive machine on the market, but the relatively small size – 35.1 x 50 x 18.8cm (WxHxD) – means it won’t take up too much space. One thing we don’t like about the DD8L is the water tank is at the back of the machine.

How much does a dd8l dehumidifier cost?

Therefore the DD8L will easily outperform many units quoted with much higher extraction rates since it does not suffer from this drawback. Not only this but is costs just 5.02p/hour (based on 15.2p/kWh) in its lowest mode making it very economical to run for a desiccant dehumidifier.

Is the Meaco dd8l dehumidifier more energy efficient?

Like other desiccant dehumidifiers, the DD8L has a relatively high wattage – at least on the highest fan setting. In warm conditions, this means it’s less energy efficient than refrigerant models. However, desiccant dehumidifiers extract water faster as the temperature drops, so they don’t need to be left on for as long.
