What is IKO Enertherm?
Description. IKO enertherm ALU PIR Insulation Board is a multi-functional 100% CFC, HCFC or HFC-free insulation board with a rigid polyisocyanurate foam core, clad on both sides with a multi-layer gas-tight aluminium construction.
Is PIR insulation breathable?
Second, impermeable materials made from petroleum products: phenolic foam, PIR, PUR and EPS. These offer broadly similar performance, and do not breathe, which is an important consideration for moisture control, see below. Third, permeable insulation materials: glass wool and mineral wool.
Which is better Rockwool or polystyrene?
The layer of hard mineral wool used during insulation of wall weighs several times more than polystyrene. It is also important that mineral wool, even in the form of hard sheets (boards), is a permanently elastic material, whereas polystyrene boards are solid.
Is EPS better than PIR?
When compared to other rigid insulations, EPS is without doubt the most cost effective. For example, to achieve a thermal resistance of 4.54 m2K/W you would need 100 mm thick PIR. Alternatively, you could specify PlusTherm EPS, at a slightly thicker 135 mm, but still save up to 50% on cost compared to PIR.

Which is better Iko enertherm or coarser foam?
With IKO enertherm, you therefore make optimum use of the space available on the roof, in the floor or in the cavity. At around 32 kg/m³, IKO enertherm is a lightweight insulation. This generates ergonomic benefits in the handling of the material. Better mechanical properties are achieved than with coarser foam because of the fine cell structure.
