There are close to 3,100 people actively volunteering in over 150 clinics and departments at UHN, coming from diverse backgrounds and performing a number of roles. Volunteers are an essential part of the people fabric at UHN, contributing towards the well-being of our patients.

You should be prepared to meet and help people from all walks of life and to treat them with equal amounts of respect.
What do you wear to volunteer at a hospital?
Dress professionally. Volunteers must dress appropriately for their assigned areas and tasks. In patient areas, no shorts, sandals (flip flops, open toed shoes) or clogs may be worn. Heavy perfume and bulk jewelry should be avoided. Khakis and/or jeans can be worn in appropriate assignments.
