Should I kill Paratus Decimius?
He is found barricaded in the Oculory by himself. He wants the crystal focused in the Oculory in Mzulft’s Aedrome; after the Dragonborn completes this task for him, he loses his essential status after a brief exposition. There is no penalty for killing him. He can be found back in Mzulft after some time passes.
Where do I put the focusing crystal?
Insert the Crystal into the gap at the bottom of the large ring. Stand as shown (photo), and place the crystal by activating the “Dwarven Armillary”. When you have done so, the ring will rotate so that the focusing crystal is positioned at the top. Your objective will become to “Focus the Oculory”.

The Main Ruin: Mzulft is a Dwarven Ruin located in Eastern Skyrim. You can find it by traveling directly South East from Windhelm. It’s along the western base of the mountain, so keep to the foothills of it as you go.

What do I do to focus the Oculory?
The trick is to press the button on each pedestal so the panels shift sideways until one of the blue mirrors lines up with the light beam. The beam then ricochets off and up to the ceiling mirror. When all three light beams hit the ceiling, you know the Oculary is focused properly.
What quest is after revealing the unseen?

Use a destruction spell to help Savos and Mirabelle break through the spell, then follow them into the Hall. Things will go blank for a second, then you’ll be speaking to Mirabelle and the quest will complete, and the next quest, Containment, will launch.

Is there something I can do to fix Paratus Decimius and make him guide me inside the room in which I am supposed to place the crystal into the Oculory? PS: Please tell me if you don’t understand something.

I just met Paratus Decimius, who (fortunately) opens the door. I said fortunately because I’m really having a lot of problems and bugs to deal with in this mission, and my patience is really running out…

@KeiraIceblade, ohh noo not another person stuck on this quest again lol. try not to loose patience, this is one of the more difficult and buggy skyrim quests. triggers the quest script to advance. bodies located in the large multi-leveled room that can be accessed through either of two open doorways.
