PHAs are a type of hydroxy (or fruit) acid. Other hydroxy acids include alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs). All three are added to skin care products to help reverse sun damage, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and make skin more elastic, toned, and hydrated.
