Like all digital TV services, BT TV includes access to 37 Freeview channels including:
- BBC (plus HD channels)

- Five USA.
Will my BT YouView work without subscription?
You won’t be able to watch any On Demand programmes from BT, but on a YouView box you’ll be able to watch programmes from any of the other On Demand players. Do bear in mind though that if you no longer have a BT TV subscription, anything you watch on your YouView box may count towards your Broadband Usage Limit.
Does BT YouView have WIFI?
Not all YouView boxes are Wi-Fi enabled. If they are not Wi-Fi enabled, they need a wired Ethernet connection to connect the internet, so that we can give you the best quality experience. If your box is too far away from your router, we would recommend a wired connection to get the best quality internet connection.
Does BT TV work without an aerial?
BT TV boxes will work without a Freeview aerial connected, but you’ll be missing out on lots of channels and some On Demand services. You’ll need to connect your aerial and scan your channels in order to receive all of your On Demand services.
Can I take my BT box to another house?
It’s free to have your BT TV service activated at your new home, and you can reinstall the equipment again yourself. Remember to take all your BT TV equipment – including all cables, Powerline Adapters (if you have them), and the remote control – from your last home.
Does a YouView box need an aerial?
Also, don’t forget that YouView uses Freeview and not Freesat channels. You need an aerial instead of a satellite dish. Insert the power lead to the back of the YouView box and the socket, and then you are good to go.

You can watch Youview with a wireless connection via other methods through your smart TV or an alternative box.

The BT TV App complements the YouView+ set-top box. It used to only be available to VIP subscribers, but the app is now available to all BT TV subscribers. The BT TV app lets you take your TV to go, in a way.

Containing a 500GB harddrive, the YouView+ box allows for 300 hours of local recording while providing access to online on-demand services such as BBC iplayer, ITV player, BT player, Netflix and more.
Which is the most recent version of YouView?
YouView is available on PVRs and receivers, the Humax DTR-T2000 (available in 500GB or 1TB drive versions) being the most recent, as well as subscription TV services from BT, TalkTalk and Plusnet. YouView is now the OS behind the BT TV, TalkTalk and Plusnet set-top boxes.
Do you have to have a BT box to watch BT TV?
BT considers these independent streaming services as add-ons, meaning you can subscribe and pay for them through BT TV and watch them on the supplied set-top box. We say they don’t really qualify as you could have either or both without the need for BT TV.
