Like all digital TV services, BT TV includes access to 37 Freeview channels including:

  • BBC (plus HD channels)
  • ITV (including ITV 2, ITV 3 and ITV Be)
  • Channel 4 (plus HD, +1)
  • Channel 5.
  • Dave.
  • E4.
  • 4Music.
  • Five USA.

Will my BT YouView work without subscription?

You won’t be able to watch any On Demand programmes from BT, but on a YouView box you’ll be able to watch programmes from any of the other On Demand players. Do bear in mind though that if you no longer have a BT TV subscription, anything you watch on your YouView box may count towards your Broadband Usage Limit.

Does BT YouView have WIFI?

Not all YouView boxes are Wi-Fi enabled. If they are not Wi-Fi enabled, they need a wired Ethernet connection to connect the internet, so that we can give you the best quality experience. If your box is too far away from your router, we would recommend a wired connection to get the best quality internet connection.

Does BT TV work without an aerial?

BT TV boxes will work without a Freeview aerial connected, but you’ll be missing out on lots of channels and some On Demand services. You’ll need to connect your aerial and scan your channels in order to receive all of your On Demand services.

Can I take my BT box to another house?

It’s free to have your BT TV service activated at your new home, and you can reinstall the equipment again yourself. Remember to take all your BT TV equipment – including all cables, Powerline Adapters (if you have them), and the remote control – from your last home.

Does a YouView box need an aerial?

Also, don’t forget that YouView uses Freeview and not Freesat channels. You need an aerial instead of a satellite dish. Insert the power lead to the back of the YouView box and the socket, and then you are good to go.

Do you have to have a BT box to watch BT TV?
