Darkwraith is a Covenant in Dark Souls. This is a hidden covenant in the game, obtained by speaking to the primordial serpent Darkstalker Kaathe in The Abyss. Through this Covenant players will be able to obtain the Red Eye Orb which is an invasion item with unlimited uses.
Can you leave the Darkwraith covenant?
Leaving the covenant in any way will cause the Red Eye Orb (but not Cracked Red Eye Orbs) to become unusable. It is not necessary to place the Lordvessel for Kaathe in order to join the Darkwraiths.

To defeat the Darkwraith Knight with ease, wield your shield very close to him, wait for the kick animation or the grab spell then back off a little and smack him for 1 or 2 hits. You can wait for his attack animation to finish and hit him one or two times.
