What does UROP stand for?
Established in 1988-1989, the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) creates research partnerships between undergraduate students and University of Michigan (U-M) researchers and community partners and organizations.

How much do MIT Urops pay?
The minimum hourly rate for UROP in AY2021-22 will be $14.25/hour. If requesting direct funding, you may request up to a total of: $1,995 (140 total hours) in fall and spring, and $6,840 (480 total hours) for the summer. These amounts are current for the 2021-22 academic year and are subject to change.
How many people are accepted into UROP?
UROP is open to first- and second-year undergraduates and transfer students in all majors and requires a two-semester commitment lasting from Fall 2020 through Spring 2021. We expect to accept up to 450 students for the Fall 2020 – Spring 2021 academic year.
Is UROP worth it Umich?
It’s worth it. I went straight into UROP as a freshman, and I do think it’s the best time to get into it. When I did it, UROP was put in MoJo, which is a great residence hall to be in. You get to be with a specific group of people right off the bat, which is good for your social life.
