Onslaught is micro-encapsulated and will last a little longer on outdoor surfaces which does give it a bit of advantage over Talstar P or Bifen IT. You can also use either one to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

Is Talstar insecticide harmful to pets?
It is toxic to humans and pets if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Do not use this product on food crops. Make sure that you allow 30 or so minutes to pass after application so that the insecticide can dry before you allow humans or animals back into the treated areas.
Is Talstar P good for roaches?
Answer: Talstar P is a broad spectrum insecticide that works well on most types of insects that invade structures including roaches and earwigs. This will help get rid of the roaches that inhabit places where you cannot apply sprays. We also recommend that you use an insect growth regulator indoors such as Gentrol IGR.

It all depends on the insect that is walking over the area treated with Talstar P, but most will die rather quickly, which means within 20 to 30 minutes to a few hours. Larger insects can take longer, such as roaches, scorpions, and spiders can take a day or two sometimes. Definitely not 7 to 10 days.
How long will Talstar P last?

The manufacturer gives Talstar P a shelf life of 3 years as long as you keep the top on the bottle and you do not store it in direct sunlight or in extreme temperatures.
