How do I hook up my iButton?
To connect the 1-wire iButton reader, simply connect the 1-Wire Signal wire from the reader to the 1-Wire Data pin on the device, and connect the ground wire to the same grounding used for the device.
How does the I button work on an iButton reader?
Either simply touch the i Buttons to the reader for momentary contact, or with an extra push, snap the i Button into place where it will be held for dwelled contact. When plugged into a 1-Wire port adapter (USB, serial, or parallel), Blue Dots provide an electrical interface for i Button communications through a PC or other computing environment.
