I have a “toggle wifi” button that is not recognized by Linux and does not work. However if I plug a network cable and turn the PC off then Ubuntu somehow forgets about the wifi and next time I boot the wireless is hard-blocked. The wifi button does not work so there’s no way to unblock it : (

How to stop iwlifi from blocking rfkill service?

As a work-around, you could modify the rfkill service file, or write a new similar one to launch a script that will sleep for a second or two, then run rfkill unblock all. A better solution, though, would be to stop iwlifi from blocking.

Why does rfkill not work on my laptop?

It looks like iwlwifi disables the wifi card when the system finishes booting (last line). Or am I wrong? I think that the rfkill service doesn’t work because my wifi card is re-blocked later in the boot process by iwlwifi.
