Why are Feynman Lectures so good?

Why are Feynman Lectures so good?

The Feynman Lectures are so popular mainly because of Feynman. He was an insightful guy, and very accessible. Definitely as good an educator as he was a physicist, if not better. The lectures (at least Volumes 1 & 2 which I’ve read) take typical undergrad topics and introduce them in a novel, Feynmanesque way.

Was Feynman a good physicist?

During his lifetime, Feynman became one of the best-known scientists in the world. In a 1999 poll of 130 leading physicists worldwide by the British journal Physics World, he was ranked the seventh-greatest physicist of all time.

Are Feynman Lectures for undergraduate?

As an undergraduate, there is a lot to learn from Feynman’s lectures. By reading it, you will know much of the basics of almost all the sub-disciplines of Physics (eg- quantum mechanics, special relativity, mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, etc.).

Is Feynman good for beginners?

I definitely would not recommend it for a beginner. Think about it this way: in my opinion, rather than teaching and explaining, he presents his own insights and research.

Is Richard Feynman The father of nanotechnology?

Physicist Richard Feynman, the father of nanotechnology. Nanoscience and nanotechnology are the study and application of extremely small things and can be used across all the other science fields, such as chemistry, biology, physics, materials science, and engineering.

Which is harder physics or math?

General perception: Physics is harder than Mathematics. Physics might be more challenging because of the theoretical concepts, the mathematical calculations, laboratory experiments and even the need to write lab reports.

Are The Feynman Lectures on physics outdated?

The Feynman Lectures are timeless. Their chief strength is in demonstrating how to reason about physics. The content is still valid and will remain so indefinitely. They cover basic mechanics, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics.

What is the fastest way to learn Feynman technique?

Applying the Feynman Technique to Study

  1. Step 1: Choose a Topic. Begin by picking a topic you want to understand and start studying it for 1-3 hours.
  2. Step 2: Write it Out. Write down the concept as simply as possible.
  3. Step 3: Start to Teach.
  4. Step 4: Revisits for Improvement.
  5. Step 5: Simplify with Analogies.
