Fluid seepage out of the vent tube can sometimes be normal, but can also be caused by overfilling. Perform a fluid level and condition inspection by having the engine at idle, on a level surface, warmed up engine, and remove the dipstick and cleaning it with a shop towel.

I traced it back and it goes all the way up to the front of the transmission where it splits into the transmission and then goes up to a vent cap above the bell housing. The seal between the transmission and transfer case is called the transfer case front seal. These deals get hard and leak. If the seal leaks the transfer case will overfill with oil. Useally the result is a leak out the vent, not the rear seal. I would in any event take the truck back and have them fix it!

I think it’s a vent for the transmission and just runs over the transfer case. The fluid leaking out is red and l believe this is transmission fluid and not the autotrac fluid. The truck seems to drive fine and I checked the transmission fluid level and it looks good. Any reason it would be leaking from the vent tube?
