Painting objects
- Go to the Create Panel and Select Forest Pack Pro or Forest Pack Lite.
- Make sure the Mode is set to Generate and pick a Surface from the scene.
- Add the objects to the Items list in the Geometry rollout.
- Adjust the Density and Map in the Distribution rollout as required.

Select an existing Forest Pack or RailClone object, or create a new one. From the Modify Panel, open the General rollout and click the Check for Updates button. Any packages that are available to download will be listed. If no new or updated packages are available Update Manager will display “Congratulations.

- With the library editor still open go to File > Preferences…
- The Library Paths rollout shows a list of locations in which Forest Pack or RailClone will search for libraries.
- In the Add New Library Path window, navigate to a folder in which you wish to save your libraries.

Can you use forest pack on 3ds Max 2017?
Due to Autodesk licensing policy Forest Pack is only able to officially support 3ds Max 2017 to 2022. The installer also includes versions of Forest Pack for 3ds Max 2013 to 2016 which should install and work as expected, but we are unable to test them. From 3ds Max 2017 Mental Ray was an optional installation.

Is there a free version of forest pack?
Forest Pack Lite is free to use, even commercially. It provides many of the features found in Forest Pack Pro but with the ability to scatter a maximum of 3 source objects using up to 4 flat areas. The Lite edition has a limited subset of presets, and does not include Creation Tools, Forest Tools, or user editable libraries.
How many presets are in forest pack 7?
In addition to new features, Forest Pack 7 also adds new content. Two completely new libraries are included, bringing the total number to 15 collections, comprising over 430 individual presets and assets.
