Jan 19, 2008 · If you are installing insulation and have to piece it together and it has paper on one side, you tape the seams to get a better seal. You can use packing tape but over time it will degrade. If the fiberglass insulation has no paper at all, it is unfaced and has no vapor barrier and does not need taping.
