Are opteka lenses good?
The Opteka 650-1300mm lens is overall a good buy in my opinion, but there are a few things to note before buying it. It’s a lens for amerture photographers who want to get a handle on long-range photography without mortgaging their house to pay for it. I used my Canon 70D with the Opteka for this review.

What kind of lens does Sony Opteka use?
For this review we included two manual-focus Opteka lenses: the Opteka 50mm f/2 lens for Sony E-mount cameras, which has the FoV of a 75mm lens when used on an APS-C camera, and the wide-angle Opteka 12mm f/2.8 lens for Sony E-mount cameras, which has the equivalent FoV as an 18mm lens on a 35mm full-frame camera.
Do you get what you pay for with Opteka lenses?
They say you get what you pay for, and this holds true for lenses. Yes, when placed in knowing hands, both of these lenses are capable of capturing wonderful photographs. In the case of Opteka, the machining and finish of the lens mounts makes mixed dancing between the lens and camera body difficult.
